Hey all ... another Grave Mistake Webstore Update has hit your inbox! We have constantly been getting new Punk and Hardcore titles and restocks in over the past month, so let's give you a little recap of what's come in ...

First off - we still have a few Government Warning T-Shirts in stock but they are going steadily! I'd advise grabbing one sooner than later, because I don't forsee another reprint of GW shirts for a while. If you missed that update, we've got two design reprints on black Comfort Colors T-shirts with white discharge ink in sizes S-2XL, so check those out along with the most recent pressing of the No Moderation LP this time on Clear Green Vinyl!

Second - the new Syndrome 81 LP is back in stock! We burned through our first batch, but the fine folks at Black Water Records were able to get us restocked quickly, so if you missed that one last time then definitely grab it now. One of the best punk records of 2022 in my opinion.

Anyways, lots of great stuff this update. We've got some great new punk and hc from the likes of Quarantine and Phantasia, some incredible reissues from The CatatonicsAgoniEnglish DogsLes Calamites (a personal favorite!), Turning PointBurialBad Brains, and more; killer fanclub pressings of the Cleanse the Bacteria compilation LP, the 3rd installment of the Knuckle Girls compilation Series, another Crass demos collection LP, and a wild soundtrack to the cult classic "Fear of a Black Hat" (which may seem like an odd selection in the GM webstore, but this movie has been a personal favorite of mine since it came out, so I had to stock it when I found out that some wonderful soul put it on vinyl).

We also got a healthy does of French Oi/Punk restocks in from Camera Silens (both LPs!), KidnapReich Orgasm, and Komintern Sect, and restocked the hell out of some Dischord RecordsBikini KillDropdead, and much more!

Thanks for reading :)

New Titles for July 29, 2022:
QUARANTINE "Agony" LP (Damage United Records)
Breakneck audio level destruction from Quarantine on their first full length release. The demo was a glimmer of perfected ushc pastiche but “Agony” pushes the limits of aggression to some kind of land speed no man’s land where UNITED MUTATION, GUDON, and “MY AMERICA” (FU’s) are firing live ammunition into each other’s boomboxes in a bid for hardcore punk long play supremacy. Instant classic from a group of utterly blue chip musicians on the label that can’t be beat. (Jonah Falco)

PHANTASIA "Ghost Stories" LP (Beach Impediment Records)
Pastels by candlelight, a spilled bottle, cigarettes burnt to the filter, the outline of a face being tanned by a flickering neon light, the vinyl debut from NYC's Phantasia is hard to get out of your head. A polytropos of black lace tinged beachfront kitsch melted together with the clever gloom of prime-era American indie, all topped by the wavering and haunting vocals of what could be likened to a baritone Siouxie Sioux. Elements of death rock, pure pop, punk, and rock and roll are all here fighting for space amongst lilting synths, reverb-soaked guitars, and muscular drumming. Recorded and mixed by Sasha Stroud, this captures both the spirit of their influences — the Feelies, Alaska y Dinarama, Bruce Springsteen, and Pylon — but holds nothing back in terms of what these songs are capable of sounding like in the 21st century. Each record comes in a jacket adorned with art by Phantasia's own Dylan Cameron.

STRIKING DISTANCE "March to Your Grave" LP (2022 Ltd. Pressing) (Grave Mistake Records)
Leftovers from the STRIKING DISTANCE July 2022 reunion shows! Here's your chance to grab a limited Lp from the weekend of reunion shows! The "March To Your Grave" Lp is on limited RED VINYL, and comes in a black picture sleeve with paste-on graphics on the front & back! Only 100 of these were made for these shows! The front cover artwork was designed by LINAS GARSYS (American Nightmare/END IT/AFI/Shark Attack/and SO many more!) with "named" bombs dropping on the SCOTUS scumbags!

ERGS, THE "Hindsight Is 20/20, My Friend Vol. 2: Okay, Enough Reminiscing" LP (Creep Records)
The Ergs were three dudes from Old Bridge, NJ who played "dorkrock" which basically meant they were music nerds who played music that was like whatever they were listening to that week. Most of the time, it just sounded like pop punk, though. This is the second collection of various singles and comp tracks that did not appear on the first "Hindsight is 20/20" collection. 22 songs in all.

EXIL "Warning" LP (Armageddon Label)
A brand new blast of US style hardcore by some longtime Swedish friends. Straight up hardcore punk, no bullshit, no metal, just well written songs delivered with all the frustration, energy and angst these times we live in inspire. This is music that makes you wish you were at a show stagediving and running around like a maniac... "What did you do when the world came to a stop? EXIL got sick like everybody else, then they got angry, then they got busy, now they're gonna get YOU. Firing out of Stockholm city in the time of protests and pandemic, EXIL hangs the open-ended grab-a-board-and-go power of early LA hardcore onto the relentless skeleton of a UK hardcore wall of sound. Society shut them out when they were young, and now here they are, full-grown and wielding reins of punk with great merciless fury. It's personal, it's piercing, and it's a party. The rebels are inside your house, they are all around you… join the singalong or face your annihilation." - Ian Christe, Bazillion Points Books

S.O.H. "Life on Edge" 7" (Shitkicker Records)
Shitkicker Records brings you our second release, "Life on Edge", the debut EP from S.O.H, featuring members from bands such as Artificial Joy, The Tissues, and Prision Postumo as they come together to bring something with a UK82 sound with a touch of crunch and pure stomp. Topped off with some furious vocals that bring it all together. This shit is a real ripper.

ABUSO DE PODER "Vago Muerto" 7" (Roachleg Records)
Boot to your dome street punk from Santa Ana. Members of TOZCOS, PRISION POSTUMO, Etc

PEOPLE'S TEMPLE "8 Track Demo" Tape (Roachleg Records)
U.S. HC on GMO's, fluoride, creatine and harmful levels of PFA's. Members of GLUE, GUNN, FUCKIN' LOVERS, PAWNS.

PUFFER Demo Tape (Roachleg Records)
Ruff and catchy street rock n' roll from Montreal. Members of ULTRARAT, MUECO, and others. Dis-rockers just rockin'

SORDID Demo Tape (Roachleg Records)
New NYC band playing disgusted and desperate disbeat with added frustration and noise! Neckbreaker punk!

AGONI "En Röst För Fred 1984-1986" LP (De:Nihil Records)
FINALLY!!! A legit reissue of all the demos! Essential Swedish Hardcore!!!! Euro import. LP in heavy board gatefold jacket. 100% Classic Stockholms Mangel! This LP contains all three AGONI (pre-Agony) demos including the long lost second demo and live material.Limited black vinyl packed in gatefold sleeve with extensive liner notes, photos etc. Mastered at Communichaos Clay Station.AGONI of Stockholm was one of the predecessors of modern D-beat and Scandinavian hardcore, playing in the heavier register such as SVART PARAD, BOMBANFALL, CRUDITY, DNA, HEADCLEANERS, ANTIBOFORS, DISARM, or DISCARD…but in some cases, several years prior to those bands. So, if any of that is of interest, this review is for you, and you already want or have this LP. AGONI was fucking heavy and fast, and pre-any of those categorizations. Just hardcore käng (känga “boot” crust) punk. Grumbling, furious bass and a calamity of drumming and distortion. An intonating furnace of vocals. Classic tumbling intros and tempo changes you hear all the time in a D-beat “Dis” band today. Not just today, ever since the mid-’80s, and all over the world! But AGONI, and their Swedish contemporaries, wrote that skit. The freshness is almost palpable; it sounds so sincerely constructed and musically destructed. The remastering of these three demos(!) and a live 1985 gig is outstanding. Not to get too far off track here, but if you watch ’80s skate videos and you see the look on the skater’s face when they are like, “What the fuck did I just do and land?,” you realize they were inventing something raw and powerful and always went as hard as possible —it was their scene to do so. That is what it’s like to listen to this compilation. Beautiful hardcore in its the purest and earliest form. No carbon copies here, actually writing the often-imitated fill stylings and riffs you hear today, seemingly happening on the exact take you are listening to. Those subtle imperfections in timing and dropping tone that make it so fucking punk. Side B (demo three) moves into their more thrash-crossover material, as bands of this style were doing then, but even their take retains hardcore roots in its hooks. This collection is essential! Alas, all the liner notes are in Swedish. Use your translation app or something, it’s not 1984—and don’t forget your band is not AGONI when you rehearse that two-second raw moment they did, but you’re still pretty good. - MRR

CATATONICS, THE "Hunted Down" LP (Neon Green Vinyl) (Southern Lord Records)
A crucial collection of ALL known recordings from Syracuse’s legendary 80s hardcore punk pioneers: The Catatonics! Blistering, intense, raging American Hardcore Power! Includes the holy grail “Hunted Down” 7” (originally released in 1984), compilation tracks, early demos, live recordings all remastered by Brad Boatright from the original tapes + a comprehensive 12 page booklet with liner notes, photos, and more. The Catatonics were Syracuse and Central New York’s first hardcore punk band. Besides pioneering the original 1981/1982 Syracuse Hardcore scene, their classic Hunted Down 7" EP is considered one of the first hardcore thrash/metal crossover releases, right up there with COC or DRI, and remains a sought-after (and pricey) collector's item 30+ years after its release. Often compared to Jerry's Kids, SSD, Negative Approach and even Slayer, The Catatonics weren't followers or imitators, more like period contemporaries. **This cult reissue was originally released on Record Store Day 2022 and sold out immediately.  This Neon Green vinyl edition is limited to 500 copies.

LES CALAMITES "Encore! 1983-1987" LP (Born Bad Records)
Wouldn't it do them justice to rid Les Calamités (literally "the calamities") of the embarrassing phrase "girl band", durably stuck to their skins and plaited skirts? It's nothing but a pink puffy cloud obscuring their true importance as a "band" full stop, as well as their fleeting though mind-bending trajectory. In just a few months going on stage with a handful of original songs recorded here and there, they became, from Dijon to Rouen, Paris to Toulouse, Bordeaux to Strasbourg, the darlings of an uncompromising rockers' demanding scene. Tolerated by some, maybe, they were also consecrated, certainly (should they have needed the accolade). The trade-off was a succession of quick and distinctive verse-choruses for which the adjectives "fresh" and "light" seemed to have been invented again. They delivered just as many covers, which gave an idea of the origins of their songwriting: one foot in the fifties (on the dancefloor), the other in the sixties (in the garage). All of this leading to their final hit, a successful incursion in the top sales with a popular song for everyone to hum at ease, from seaside campsites to the cool kids of the capital. Everything the Calamités touched, with their classy, rigorous, casual ways -- plus just enough amused detachment -- turned into gold. Small-scale, three-voice anthems sung with a style given both by arrogant innocence and cheeky ease. Without playing the cards naturally assigned to girls (sexy attitude, feminist clichés, dilettante groupism) they managed to combine a pop teen spirit with a shameless rock n' roll energy. The Calamités were however and at once, one step behind -- some kind of '50s-60s classicism -- and one ahead thanks to their writing talent and French lyrics. They lived in Beaune, Burgundy, and do so mostly uneventfully. It's the early '80s. One thing leading to another, with a repertoire made up of just as many covers as personal compositions, they find a drummer after trying many, fire up local, then national venues, befriend the Dogs and other rock n' roll bands and recorded an album, À bride abattue, for the label New Rose. Coveted by fanzines, then approached by the magazines Best and Rock & Folk, they also appear on regional then national television, from Les Enfants du Rock all the way to Platine 45 with Jacky. When all the doors seem wide open, they choose to focus on the end of their studies instead. Caroline definitely moves on, while Odile and Isabelle push things just a bit further and treat themselves to a hit that easily makes its way into the Top 50: the famous "Vélomoteur", fan-produced by Daniel Chenevez -- one-half of the successful duo Niagara and a savvy producer.

ENGLISH DOGS "Forward into Battle" LP (Orange Vinyl) (Radiation Records)
Formed in the northern market town of Grantham in l98l, hardcore punk band English Dogs swiftly built a reputation via demos, supporting Charged GBH and Discharge on early tours. After debut Invasion of the Porky Men, original vocalist Wakey was replaced by former Ultraviolent frontman, Ade Bailey, the inclusion of Destructors guitarist Gizz Butt pointing to the new metal direction fully mined on Forward Into Battle, Butt’s flighty riffs lifting the thrash bedrock to further heights of melodicism. This key piece of archaeology is a must for all English Dogs fans, showcasing their glorious blend of thrash, hardcore and metal. On ORANGE VINYL (Ltd. 200 copies)

ENGLISH DOGS "Invasion of the Porky Men" LP (Grey Vinyl) (Radiation Records)
Emerging from the northern market town of Grantham in the early 1980s, English Dogs reached the punk spotlight opening for Charged GBH and Discharge. Debut album Invasion of the Porky Men features the band’s original line-up, with drummer Andrew Pinching, bassist Mark ‘Wattie’ Watson, guitarist John Murray and vocalist Pete ‘Wakey’ Wakefield, the hardcore focus very different from the metal direction they would take after Wakey moved on and Gizz Butt added his guitar pyrotechnics. This debut disc is a must for all UK  hardcore fanatics, who like their punk delivered in raw, unadorned thrash mode. On GREY VINYL (Ltd. 200 Copies)

EXPLOITED, THE "Complete Punk Singles Collection" 2xLP (Dirty Punk Records)
Here's one of the biggest British bands ever at Dirty Punk's. Regarding The Exploited, everything in vinyl has been pressed again for years, except singles, whose last vinyl pressing dates back to 1996. And, unlike this old edition, this new pressing also includes titles from the Jesus is Dead" and "War Now" maxi singles. You'll find everything: EPs, maxi singles and compilations: 27 tracks altogether. Therefore, it's a double vinyl with a wonderful gatefold sleeve. And, for every collector addicts, there is a double limited edition of 300 copies in clear turquoise blue. Very classy!" -Dirty Punk Records

V/A "Belfast Rock" Compilation LP (Splatter Vinyl) (Radiation Records)
Radiation Records present a reissue of Belfast Rock, a compilation released by Rip Off Records in 1978. Pioneering Belfast-based producer George Doherty formed Rip Off Records in 1978 to showcase the emerging punk scene of this politically-divided city, then riven by the factionalism of "The Troubles". Innovative compilation Belfast Rock was the first to feature Belfast punk bands alongside hard rock outfits, most notably legendary Belfast punk act The Detonators, whose sole appearances on vinyl are included here, as well as Doherty's own band, The Jumpers (culled from Pretty Boy Floyd & The Gems, who also feature). A must for anyone interested in the history of punk, as well as Belfast's rock evolution. Also features Blue Steam, Cobra, and No Sweat. On SPLATTER VINYL

GASTUNK "Dead Song" LP (Harto De Todo)
Totally mindblowing CONFUSE/KURO/G.I.S.M.- styled madness, originally issued in 1985 on the legendary DOGMA label from Japan. One of Metallica's Kirk Hammet personal faves. In the words of Septic Death's singer Pushead, as published back then in MRR: "Raging speedcore thrusts out pile-driving chaotic leads and maniac raspy vocals, whose style is unique and adds character to the GASTUNK sound. Fast, maniac slices with some interspeed variations make this one of the hottest Japanese LPs since GISM."

V/A "Knuckle Girls Vol. 3: 14 Territorial Turf War Tunes" LP (Color Vinyl) (Angry Young Woman Records)
KNUCKLE GIRLS VOLUME 3: 14 TERRITORIAL TURF WAR TUNES FROM THE TOMBOY GOONS IN SPLIT-KNEE LOONS ... An extract from the novel “Bovver Birds Rool”: Dawn’s preferred nickname was “Demolition Girl”. Or, “Demolition Dawn”, if needs must. She would never answer to just plain old “Dawn”, though. “Dawn” was completely out. She was tired of blokes asking if they could see her “crack”, for a start. That was never funny, to Dawn. Or the blokes, after they’d said it and got their comeuppance. And then there was Jane. Her friends called her “Jane Pain”, because she liked to inflict it on her enemies in lethal doses. Her enemies called her “Plain Jane”, which she wasn’t, but she was hardly the Daily Mirror’s wartime glamour girl Jane, either. A one-girl war? Yeah, sometimes. Especially if you were one of the chancers attempting to call her “Plain”. Or, if you were attempting to cause aggro for her beloved Dawn. And these were The Knuckle Girls. Well, two of them, anyway. The others were many but lesser-spotted, like their Bovver Bird adversaries, unless there was a crisis, which was most weeks. Most days, sometimes. Friday nights were the worst.

FEAR OF A BLACK HAT Original Motion Picture Soundtrack LP (Green Vinyl) (Innergroove Records)
The soundtrack to this cult classic mockumentary finally makes it to vinyl. Often referred to as "the Spinal Tap of hip-hop," the soundtrack features full versions of the parody songs interspersed throughout the movie by the film's main subject, rap group NWH, and their various solo offshoots. Features all of the hits - Booty Juice, Guerrillas in the Midst, Fuck the Security Guards, My Peanuts, and of course, Come and Pet the P.U.S.S.Y. On green vinyl - 300 pressed.

TURNING POINT "S/T" 7" (Orange Vinyl) (Revelation Records)
This recreation of the Turning Point "s/t" 7" from 1989 is the second release as Revelation Records reissues the band's out-of-print catalog. From New Jersey, Turning Point was the state's answer to the hardcore movement of New York and Connecticut of the late-'80s, playing up and down the East Coast with Chain Of Strength, Bold, Judge, Burn, Mouthpiece, and many more, before disbanding in 1991. Jade Tree and Think Fast! Records released the band's catalog as a discography in the early 2000s so none of the releases have been issued as stand-alone records since they were first put out.

BURIAL "A Day on the Town" LP (White Vinyl) (Radiation Records)
Hailing from Britain’s formerly industrial heartland of North Yorkshire, The Burial was a forward-facing ska-punk/Oi band with a strong Left orientation, channelling 2Tone, Northern Soul, punk, and folk influences. Rhythm guitarist Eric ‘Barney’ Barnes made sure the world knew these skinheads were antifascist and the use of a full horn section made their sole LP, A Day On The Town, stand out. Unlike the Redskins, who soon moved to the student circuit, The Burial remained embedded in the working class communities from whence they came; this fine, often overlooked LP will be devoured by all fans of ska-punk and Oi!.

CAMERA SILENS "Rien Qu'en Trainant" LP (Euthanasie Records)
Originally released by the band's own label in 1987, this reissue brings us back some classic french Punk and Ska. 7 tracks!

KOMINTERN SECT "Les Seigneurs De La Guerre" LP (Euthanasie Records)
KOMINTERN SECT were one of the best Punk/Oi! bands, they formed in Orleans, France in 1981. The line up was Carl(vocals), Jano(bass), Thomas ("Thomoi"-drums) and Punky(guitar). They signed a record deal with CHAOS Productions which was co-owned by Punky and Herve(REICH ORGASM). The bands first appearance on vinyl was in 1982 they contributed three songs to the compilation "Apocalypse Chaos". Not long after they appeared on another compilation called, "Chaos En France", with anew song "Unis Par Le Vin". Their first LP was released in 1983 it was called "Les Seigneurs De La Guerre", and they gigged in France and Germany to promote it. It's hard to pick out the influences on Komintern Sect's 1983 debut LP. The band's songs on the 'Apocalypse Chaos' compilation were clear nods to England's No Future scene, but a year later they emerged more stylized and refined. Elements of the British sound were punctuated with somber guitar leads and vocal melodies that always seem to climb when you least expect. The band became the figurehead of the thriving French Oi scene, eventually releasing several LPs and helping bring international attention to a scene that was shrouded in mystery outside of continental Europe.

CRASS "Demos 1977-79" LP (Fanclub Pressing)
Crass formed in 1977, based around Dial House, an anarchist community near Epping, Essex, in England. They were progenitors of a militant anarcho-pacifism that became pervasive in the punk music scene (see also anarcho-punk). Whereas the Sex Pistols' anarchism seemed to be a self-consciously nihilistic prank, Crass's anarchism was more directly linked to the libertarian socialist or communalistic varieties of 20th century political thought. Taking literally the punk manifesto of "anyone can do it", they combined the use of song, film, sound collage, graphics and subversion to launch a sustained and innovative critical broadside against all that they saw as a culture built on foundations of war, violence, religious hypocrisy and blind consumerism.

SACCHARINE TRUST "Paganicons" LP (Fanclub Pressing)
Fanclub release of California post-hardcore band Saccharine Trust's seminal 1981 oddball punk debut Paganicons. One of the greatest of the early SST releases which is impressive considering a catalog which also included onset recordings from Minutemen and Black Flag. One listen and you can clearly here why guitarist Joe Baiza considered his band the black sheep of the label and why famous fans include Kurt Cobain, Buzz Osborne and Sonic Youth. Produced by Spot, Mike Watt and Saccharine Trust and recorded at Media Art Studio in Hermosa Beach in April of 1981. Includes lyric insert.

BAD BRAINS "Pay to Cum" 7" (Org Music)
Pay to Cum is the debut single from the band Bad Brains, self-released in June 1980 on the band’s Bad Brain Records. The single was recorded in New York City by Jimi Quidd at his Dots Studios. This reissue marks the first release in the remaster campaign, re-launching the Bad Brains Records label imprint. In coordination with the band, Org Music has overseen the restoration and remastering of the iconic Bad Brains’ recordings. The audio was mastered by Dave Gardner at Infrasonic Mastering and pressed at Furnace Record Pressing. The release includes a replication of the original insert.

BAD BRAINS "Rock for Light" LP (Org Music)
Rock for Light is the second full-length album by Bad Brains, released in 1983. It was produced by Ric Ocasek of The Cars. We’re proud to present the original mix of the album, for the first time in decades, as the band originally intended. Most fans will be more familiar with the 1991 reissue, which was remixed by Ocasek and bass player Darryl Jenifer. In addition to new mixes, that version used an altered track order. This reissue marks the fourth release in the remaster campaign, re-launching the Bad Brains Records label imprint. In coordination with the band, Org Music has overseen the restoration and remastering of the iconic Bad Brains’ recordings. The audio was mastered by Dave Gardner at Infrasonic Mastering and pressed at Furnace Record Pressing.

BAD BRAINS "Quickness" LP (Org Music)
Quickness is the fourth full-length studio album by Bad Brains, originally released by Caroline Records in 1989. This reissue marks the fifth release in the remaster campaign, re-launching the Bad Brains Records label imprint. In coordination with the band, Org Music has overseen the restoration and remastering of the iconic Bad Brains’ recordings. The audio was mastered by Dave Gardner at Infrasonic Mastering and pressed at Furnace Record Pressing.

EU'S ARSE "Discography" Tape (Black Water Records)
Discography cassette from this 80s Italian hardcore band.

HARD STANCE "Foundation: The Discography" LP (Red Vinyl) (Indecision Records)
Hard Stance was a crucial starting point for members that would end up inspiring a scene that still runs strong today. And don't be mistaken to assume that inspiration was their only contribution, members remained active outside of Hard Stance by playing in such scene stalwarts as Inside Out, No For An Answer, Chain Of Strength, Statue, Farside, and even heading out with Gorilla Biscuits for a tour. This collection contains all their recorded output. LP includes digital download.

INSTED "Proud Youth: 1986-1991" 2xLP (Red Vinyl) (Indecision Records)
In their five-year existence, Insted toured the States several times and developed a huge local following at home in Orange County, CA. They were one of the most prominent straight-edge bands of the late-'80s scene, playing old-school hardcore with an ultra-positive message. This retrospective is packed to capacity with every song the band ever recorded, 45 tracks in all. Now available again on colored vinyl with a gatefold cover and one additional track. Vinyl version includes digital download of the entire album as well as a 30-minute video documentary about the band and a 30-minute video of their entire set filmed at the Showcase Theater from one of their reunion shows in 2004.

UNITY "You are One" 7" (Indecision Records)
Unavailable for over 13 years, this Orange County hardcore classic is finally back in press. Guitarist Joe D. Foster went on to play in No For An Answer and later form the band Ignite. Pat Longrie and Pat Dubar, drummer and singer respectively, went on to form the influential Uniform Choice. New pressing now available on white vinyl.

UP FRONT "Spirit" LP (Smorgasbord Records)
Up Front was an influential part of the late 1980s straight-edge hardcore movement in New York and Connecticut that helped pave the way for the third generation of straight-edge hardcore bands. They played many of their early shows at the now famous Anthrax Club in Norwalk, CT. "Spirit" is their classic full-length from 1988 which was followed by a summer tour in 1989 with Unit Pride, Insted, and Gorilla Biscuits. New pressing now available on black and white split vinyl. LP includes digital download.

V/A "Nardcore" Compilation LP (It's Alive Records)
Showing that central California is more than something you pass while driving to San Francisco, this collection showcases the classic and often duplicated "Nardcore" Sound. Features songs from Dr. Know, Ill Repute, Stalag 13, RKL, among others. Now available again on colored vinyl. LP includes an 18" x 24" poster and sticker.

G-ANX / FILTHY CHRISTIANS Split 7" (Armageddon Label)
A long planned reissue project, it's nice to have this one finally happen after only 15 years since we started talking about it! The G-Anx / Filthy Christians split 7" was pretty influential to a fledgling Dropdead back in 1991/1992. Two Swedish hardcore/punk bands each approaching fast crazy HC with completely different approaches. We listened to this record a ton, and maybe the influences can't be heard in the DD sound, but it's been there from the start. It has been great that over the years we've had the chance to hang out with Steve and Per a few times on various tours. Play this record loud and often. Audio was remastered in 2021 by Carl Saff Mastering, the vinyl lacquers were cut by Nick Townsend Mastering.

"Do What You Want: The Story of Bad Religion" Book (Hachette Books)
From their beginnings as teenagers experimenting in a San Fernando Valley garage dubbed "The Hell Hole" to headlining major music festivals around the world, discover the whole story of Bad Religion's forty-year career in irreverent style. Do What You Want's principal storytellers are the four voices that define Bad Religion: Greg Graffin, a Wisconsin kid who sang in the choir and became an L.A. punk rock icon while he was still a teenager; Brett Gurewitz, a high school dropout who founded the independent punk label Epitaph Records and went on to become a record mogul; Jay Bentley, a surfer and skater who gained recognition as much for his bass skills as for his antics on and off the stage; and Brian Baker, a founding member of Minor Threat who joined the band in 1994 and brings a fresh perspective as an intimate outsider. With a unique blend of melodic hardcore and thought-provoking lyrics, Bad Religion paved the way for the punk rock explosion of the 1990s, opening the door for bands like NOFX, The Offspring, Rancid, Green Day, and Blink-182 to reach wider audiences. They showed the world what punk could be, and they continue to spread their message one song, one show, one tour at a time.
