Greetings! This past month has been BUSY and we are just getting 2024 started! This update finds three BRAND NEW releases from our friends at Beach Impediment Records - we've got new LPs from Public AcidCanal Irreal, and Sexpill that just dropped today, plus we picked up a few more of their recent releases from the likes of GolpeMoney, and Hacker. BIR always delivers QUALITY, so check all of these out if you know what's good for you!
Grabbed a bunch of new stuff from Iron Lung Records as well, including a new Physique 7", new releases from Violin (who had a great LP out on La Vida Es Un Mus not too long ago), Nasti, a powerful debut LP from Crawl Space, and a restock (on Blue Vinyl) of the crushing debut LP from Washington DC's Brain Tourniquet!
Very excited to stock FOUR (count em!) new tapes from our Boston pals Active-8 Records - we've got the most recent Savageheads tape, a new demo from Eye Witness, the latest from ICU, and a sick teaser tape from The Massacred (who should have a new EP out very soon). If you are still a tape head like it's 2016, then scoop all of these fuckers up you will not regret it.
In addition to all of these new hardcore punk releases, we of course have a few crucial reissues and fanclub titles for you - like the Minor Threat Out of Step Outtakes 7", an all encompassing SOA collection LP, an official reissue of the classic Italian hardcore LP Screams from the Gutter by Raw Power, plus a few cool demos and rarities collections from Sisters of MercySiouxsie and the Banshees, and Danzig!!!
Finally, we've restocked so much cool stuff that we can't seem to keep in stock - including a TON of MisfitsSamhain, and Danzig fanclub releases, that killer Straight Ahead fanclub LP, lots of Dischord Records essentials from Minor ThreatThe Faith, and more, plus lots of classic USHC albums and rarity collections! We also restocked on a ton of the Ramones catalog, and a stack of books from our friends at PM Press including many Crass and UK punk books for your reading pleasure!
That's all for now - next month we will have a few small surprises that we dug up from storage, and maybe another sale? Those seem to be fun for all!
Thanks for reading

New Titles in the Webstore for February 23, 2024:
PUBLIC ACID "Deadly Struggle" LP (Beach Impediment Records)
Amidst a seemingly endless onslaught of bands, labels, and other opportunistic clowns vying for commercial gain via subcultural cannibalism, it can be easy to lose sight of what drew us to punk in the first place. But despite the deluge of bullshit, we know that occasional nuggets of ugly and raw authenticity will claw their way to the surface for the hardcore punk faithful. And folks, we have just such a nugget in Deadly Struggle: 8 tracks of pummeling aural turbulence on a 12" slab for those who desire reality over cosplay. Building off the shockwaves of 2020’s Condemnation, Public Acid’s sound—a skewed, arty amalgamation of bludgeoning hardcore, frantic, riff- soaked d-beat, harsh noise, and underground metal—has only grown more focused and furious. There’s the virtuosic rhythm section, possessing an inhuman combination of lightness of touch and neanderthal power; the blinding, riffs-inside-of-riffs guitar style; the density of sound, massively heavy and pock-marked with kaleidoscopic fuzz; the maniacal vocals, inventive in both their technique and their rhythmic cadences; and, of course, the deadly mid-paced parts. Deadly Struggle reminds us that while hardcore punk will never die, those who cheapen it absolutely will.

SEXPILL "In Dust We Trust" LP (Beach Impediment Records)
There's something to be said about the great state/nation/planet of Texas and it's ability to seemingly ooze vicious hardcore punk from the cracks of the land mass it claims. After a series of demos and storied live performances home and elsewhere over the course of nearly a decade, SEXPILL gives us "IN DUST WE TRUST" - the band's first venture onto the 12" format. Each slab harnesses twelve tracks of belligerent and noisy hardcore punk, capturing Houston's finest at their most maniacal to date, featuring brand new tracks flanked by some reimagined fan favorites from the earlier mentioned demo days. IN DUST WE TRUST. IN DUST WE MUST.

CANAL IRREAL "Someone Else's Dance" LP (Beach Impediment Records)
"What you hold in your hands is not exactly for you. It is not a delight for your senses, nor sonic inspiration for transgressing your restraints. It is not your empowerment tool. It is manifestly theirs— a portal to their arena of power, powerlessness, joy, hate, anger, fear, and failure. None of it is yours. Still, can you plug in, tune in, lock in to their dial? Are you capable of not giving in to escape and instead absorbing it? Are you capable of asking for more? You want the channel? Here it goes: the channel is walk into the dark and dance. Bop and beg. Lean and laugh. Stare and stomp. Afterwards, go ahead and yell “I failed!” Ride along to the signal-notes that ring like sirens across the city warning you that an odorless noxious gas has just been released into the air. But don’t run. Instead, lean into the pulse. The channel is bop your head, bounce your ass, sing, wade, stomp, and scream. Canal Irreal has rescinded and revoked your access to the splendid metropolis. The channel is fuck you. The channel is don’t ask them about Chicago, you don’t know it. The channel is don’t ask them about the fish; the Lake has consumed them all. Walk toward the darkness. Listen to the whispers and less to the wind. Lift your arms up to the melodic swings. Bounce your feet to the snap of the snare and flow of the bass. But don’t lose yourself—lock in. Are you capable of asking for more? Find the canal, or be clicked out by the clicker. Hold on to the wavelength or go back to normie-land. Canal Irreal is not hard or dark, it’s a portal to the personal, to desperation and exasperation. Go ahead and scream: “Doy todo y mucho mas.” This channel is not for your liberation. But do please tune in. What channel are you on now? Canal de mierda. Canal de chingado. Canal de sobrevivir. Canal Irreal. Bienvenidos." -Mike Amezcua

PHYSIQUE "Overcome By Pain" 7" (Iron Lung Records)
Physique is back with a quick followup to their debut album, “Again” (out earlier this year on Iron Lung Records) with six pounding D-Beat fueled crusty maelstroms that shout protests of a hellish reality, mental fatigue, greed, desperation, the illusion of choice and modern fascism. The steamroller continues…

VIOLIN "S/T" 7" (Iron Lung Records)
London’s singular maelstrom, Violin, has arrived at ILRHQ with four deadly soundblasts to loosen the grip on your perceived reality. Violin’s sole proprietor, Lindsay Corstophine, exposes and decimates a “cruel fantastic world” of willful ignorance, seething metropolitan dread, paranoid visions and fatal submissions. All this at mostly one two violence tempo in the perfect amount of hardcore time, spanning less than 6 minutes total.

S.O.A. "No Policy" LP (Born to Kill Records)
It compiles the well known State Of Alert – No Policy EP 7″ on Dischord records, the songs lifted from the Flex Your Head compilation also released on Dischord records. But the best part are the demo, live tracks and the pre-State Of Alert band demo from the Extorts.

MINOR THREAT "Out of Step Outtakes" 7" (Dischord Records)
In January 1983, Minor Threat went into Inner Ear Studio for the first time as a five-piece (Brian Baker had moved from bass to second guitar and Steve Hansgen was now playing bass). They had six new songs that would end up being the center piece of what became the Out of Step 12" EP. The band had also decided to re-record the song "Out of Step" with some extra language to try to clarify the lyrics, as well as "Cashing In", a tongue-in-cheek song about the DC punk scene which they had only played live once. After much debate, "Cashing In" was added as a hidden track on the original vinyl release though not listed on the cover or label. There was still blank tape on the reel, so they decided to record an instrumental with the working title, "Addams Family" and then recorded new versions of "In My Eyes" and "Filler" to hear what they sounded like with two guitars. "Addams Family" ended up being used as a coda to "Cashing In", but the other two songs were never mixed and largely forgotten for over 35 years until the multitrack tapes were taken into the studio to be digitized in 2021. Surprised by the discovery, Ian and Don Zientara mixed the two songs along with the complete take of "Addams Family". These outtakes are now being released on a 7" to mark the 40th anniversary of the release of Out of Step.

SAVAGEHEADS "Summer Demo 2023" Tape (Active-8 Records)
This cassette features 3 demo tracks for a new upcoming LP plus an INSANE cover.

EYE WITNESS "S/T" Tape (Active-8 Records)
This cassette features 6 tracks of classic sounding Boston hardcore punk. These tracks are from 2 different recording sessions.

MASSACRED, THE "A Look Into the Bowels of Hell" Tape (Active-8 Records)
Demo tracks for an upcoming LP, tracks from the upcoming Death March EP, plus live tracks recorded at The Middle East Downstairs.

ICU "Sand and Gravel" Tape (Active-8 Records)
Brand new CS release from INTENSIVE CARE UNIT. “SAND AND GRAVEL” is 14 tracks of fast and hard hitting BOSTON HARDCORE.

GOLPE "Assuefazione Quotidiana" 7" (Beach Impediment Records)
It's with a great sense of pride that we announce the arrival of new material from Italy's GOLPE. Serving as the highly anticipated follow up to 2021's La Colpa È Solo Tua on the Sorry State label, Tadzio Pederzolli (the mastermind behind this one man band) has once again gifted us with an ace hardcore punk recording, upping the fervor and delivery in a way that most couldn't imagine after the already furious debut LP which he also recorded on his own during the pandemic. The Assuefazione Quotidiana 7" EP features five absolute pounders of tracks, giving us more of the D-Beat based hardcore punk listeners came to love from the initial release with nods to Italian classics as the foundation of it all, topped off with politically and socially charged lyrics challenging modern norms and injustices. Truly a breath of fresh air sonically and philosophically. Each record comes with a stunning fold out poster, two inserts with the lyrics in Italian and one with an English translation, all topped off with a striking and straight-forward layout featuring the art and design from Tadzio's mind, executed with the help of co-conspirators.

MONEY "S/T" LP (Beach Impediment Records)
MONEY? MONEY. MONEY are the Texas blackened metal punks who dropped that FINAL BAG Demo and 3 A.M. ETERNAL EP on us in recent years. It can be hard to keep up with the deluge of mostly bullshit that comes up on a daily basis but MONEY stands alone. Their "members of" list is impressive but it’s unnecessary in light of the blistering 1-2 of licks and rapid fire drums. And while the aforementioned releases came into being via cassettes on the great Roach Leg Records and from the band themselves respectively, B.I.R. is proud to have these 7 corrosive tracks on vinyl for the first time. Amphetamine fueled riffs for moral decline. MONEY. FFO: Darkthrone, Anti-Cimex, Sepultura, G-Zet. Remastered by Arthur Rizk, this collection of the initial efforts by MONEY is both for the well acquainted and those who might have missed the tapes when they dropped. Limited to 666 copies, half on COKE bottle clear and the other half on powder white vinyl. Each record comes in a jacket featuring art by Curse of Face and logo by Joe Chatt. Yee.

NASTI "People Problem" LP (Iron Lung Records)
Nasti, the people’s favorite, is back with their third album of misanthropic hardcore punk. Sure to delight the senses of the senseless with thudding violence and irritated vitriol. It is the band’s opinion that humans are mostly garbage and this record reflects that sentiment wholeheartedly. “People Problem” is musical equivalent of Jack Nicholson in The Shining methodically/maniacally typing: I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you… A co-release between Iron Lung Records (US) and Static Shock Records (UK).

CRAWL SPACE "My God … What've I Done?" LP (Iron Lung Records)
Ten short sharp blasts of ultra-frenetic, intense and to-the-point American hardcore punk in the vein of Negative FX, Agnostic Front, The Abused and Deathwish. They sure don’t waste time with any unessentials. What they have done is take a little more time with “My God…” since the previous tapes and 7” to expand on their sound and enrich the overall listening experience. A couple of these triumphant new epics are more than one minute in length so consider this their step up to Long Play maturity. Crawl Space has emerged from the basement and stepped into the daylight ready to stomp your ears out. This MLP is downright nasty.

MALCRIA "Fantasias Histericas" LP (Iron Lung Records)
Hyper-present, immediate hardcore bursting with the disenchantment and paranoia of living in a society that does not care about our survival. Liberty and comfort are lost fantasies, yet we continue in our obscene pursuits for them. This is the crux of modern life that “Fantasías Histéricas” addresses head on, exposing an era in decline, pointing the microscope at the cracks in the foundation. Maclría is an important tool in our advance toward a more meaningful life.

HACKER "Psy Wi-Fi" 7" (Beach Impediment Records)
Melbourne, Australia’s most feared hardcore cyber-vandal cell returns to wreak havoc on your network and your dance floors with the four-track “Psy Wi-Fi” EP. Following up the tightly-wound attack as heard on 2021’s “Pick A Path” 12”, Hacker have defragged the hardware and blown the dust out, striking again with more slightly more expansive songwriting. “Psy Wi-Fi” marks the welcome addition of a pinch more metal in the guitars and a fistful more pummel in the breakdowns to their established blueprint of direct, charging hardcore riffs, a rhythm section that is as agile as it is powerful, and one of the most expressive, capable and rabid vocalists in punk today. Update your firewall all you want, Hacker is coming. Expect them. (Neil Bramley)

RAW POWER "Screams from the Gutter" LP (FOAD Records)
F.O.A.D. Records keeps up the unbreakable legacy with Italy’s absolute Hardcore heroes RAW POWER giving to their most classic album “Screams from the gutter” a proper deluxe edition to consecrate its 35th anniversary, a total quality-care version that makes justice to this timeless Hardcore milestone! Many of you will agree that this is the finest Italian HC offering ever made and easily one of the 10 world’s best Hardcore records of the 80’s… over 40.000 copies sold and still sounding fresh and up-to-date even when compared to modern HC standards.

"Just a Minor Threat: The Minor Threat Photographs of Glen E. Friedman" Book (Akashic Books, Ltd)
Just a Minor Threat is a book of Glen E. Friedman’s most outstanding photographs of the Washington, DC, band Minor Threat, one of the most influential hardcore punk bands in music history. While the book offers Friedman’s best-known photographs of the band, most of the pictures in this volume, shot in 1982 and ’83, have never been seen before. The book has writing by Jello Biafra, Alec MacKaye, Guy Picciotto, Zack de la Rocha, Jamie Shanahan, and Ian F. Svenonius. Friedman’s own introduction explains how he initially met the band, and the lifelong friendships that grew from there. The first time Friedman made pictures of Minor Threat was in Southern California early in the summer of 1982, then later on their home turf of Washington, DC. At the end of that same year, he shot them at an “explosive and uncontrollable” performance at CBGB in New York City. In addition to these, Just a Minor Threat also comprises very rare candid and posed photos of the band, including many from the same roll as the now classic “Salad Days” image on the front steps of their “Dischord House.”

"The Legend Of Kansai Hardcore" Book (FOAD Records)
“Kansai” is a region in Japan that lies in the southern-central territory of Japan’s main island Honshū and includes the prefectures of Mie, Nara, Wakayama, Kyoto, Osaka, Hyōgo and Shiga. The metropolitan area of Osaka, Kobe and Kyoto is the second-most populated in Japan after the Greater Tokyo Area. This book, previously published only in Japanese and now finally translated into English, is incredible journey through the depths of the Kansai Hardcore hell run by none other than Ishiya of DEATH SIDE and FORWARD fame. Teaming up with him in the interviews is Shintani from RAPES, whose career stretches from the early days of the Punk/Metal scene to the present. Packed with interviews, tons of interesting anecdotes and spiced up with rare pictures, this is the definitive work about that legendary scene, a true-to-the-bone, authentic Hardcore report… Bands included: ZOUO, S.O.B., OUTO, RAPES, WARHEAD, NIGHTMARE, MOBS, Charmy & Pon (LAUGHIN’ NOSE, NASHI) and more! Expanded version with an extra chapter all dedicated to the many Japanese Hardcore / Punk / Metal releases on F.O.A.D. Records with artwork and info. All written in English! 172 pages, full color.

BLOOD, THE "False Gestures for a Devious Public" LP (Radiation Records)
There is no doubt that THE BLOOD are sadly one of most over-looked British punk groups of all-time. “False Gestures for a Devious Public” was the Blood's debut album, originally released in late 1983 on the short-lived Noise label, and album quickly reached No. 5 in the Independent Chart. One listen and anyone will know why it’s often cited as one of the best records from the 80s among fans of UK Punk. THE BLOOD were much more than just another Punk band, they managed to blend raging straight-ahead ferocious punk with melodic Oi! while infusing it all with tinges of near speed metal riffage and gothic-vibed weirdness and a sense of humor to create this unequalled masterpiece.

BLACK FLAG "Live '84" 2xLP (Police Story Records)
1984 show in San Francisco (great sound)

DANZIG "The Lost Tracks of Danzig" 2xLP (Death Entertainment Records)
Fanclub Pressing. Limited double green/pale blue marbled vinyl LP pressing. The Lost Tracks of Danzig consists of 24 previously unreleased tracks that span Danzig's entire career. Whenever I've made a new album, I've recorded more songs than were needed for the final CD, said Glenn Danzig. The songs that make it onto the final album 'fit' or 'flow' together as a whole. Consequently, some tremendous DANZIG songs have never been released, not because they weren't great, but because they didn't fit the overall vibe of the particular album, or for other reasons. When Glenn began the Lost Tracks project, the songs were in various stages of completion - some were still in demo form, some had no vocals, some needed a different mix, a new bass or guitar track, or some other type of tweaking. So, after spending months tracking down and reviewing the original tapes, Glenn entered the studio and completed the tracks, handling the vocals and finishing all instrumental recording himself.
